The Whitewater High School Wind Ensemble was created in 2005 to cater to the needs of the advanced music students. Since its inception, the Whitewater Wind Ensemble has earned only Superior ratings at Performance Evaluations.
Students from the Wind Ensemble regularly participate in the Georgia All-State Band, District Honor Band, Governor’s Honors Program, Metropolitan Atlanta Youth Wind Ensemble, Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony, among others in the metro Atlanta area.
Spring 2007 The Whitewater Wind Ensemble traveled to Gatlinburg, Tennessee to compete in the Smoky Mountain Music Festival and received the highest honors from esteemed judges such as Col. John Bourgeois, Dr. Stanley Michalski, and Dr. William Moody.
2009 The Wind Ensemble was invited to perform at the University of Georgia January Music Festival and The Georgia Music Educator’s Association In-Service Conference.
Fall 2011 The Wind Ensemble performed a joint concert with the Georgia State University Symphonic Wind Ensemble at the Rialto Center for the Arts.
2013 The Whitewater High School French Horn Choir performed a Lobby Concert performance at The Georgia Music Educator’s Association In-Service Conference. Also in 2013 the Wind Ensemble performed a joint concert with the Georgia State University Symphonic Winds at the Rialto Center for the Arts.
2014 The Whitewater High School Wind Ensemble performed at the 2014 University of Georgia January Music Festival as a featured ensemble.
2018 The Wind Ensemble was selected to perform at a featured ensemble at the 2018 University of Alabama High School Honor Band.
2019 The Wind Ensemble once again performed a joint concert with the Georgia State University Symphonic Winds at the Rialto Center for the Arts.
